Subscription Role Product
All subscriptions contain a subscription role product. This product automatically makes them a member of your group gives them a subscription role. You can give users with subscription roles special permissions, such as as access to announcement, group instances, or priority queues.
Subscription roles are always connected to a single subscription. Unlike Udon products, you cannot manually add or remove subscription role products a subscription.
Create a subscription role product
You can create a subscription role product by creating a subscription or creating a paid role.
Create a subscription
Create a subscription on the My Subscriptions page. This is the easiest way to create a subscription role product.
Create manually
You can create a subscription role product manually, which also creates a subscription for you. This process is more complex than creating a subscription first.
The text and screenshots in this section uses the outdated term "paid role" instead of "subscription role product."
- Navigate to vrchat.com/home
- Go to your Groups tab in the left-hand sidebar.
- After choosing a Group you own, go to Settings > Roles.
- Choose Create Paid Role.
- Note: You will be prompted to agree to the Tilia Terms of Service before you can set up paid roles. Read on setting up with Tilia here.
You cannot create more than five (paid) roles with the "View all members" permission. See Canny.
- Enter a name and description for your role.
- You can set any role-specific permissions here.
- Click the Save button. You’ve made your first paid role!
Subscriptions are tied directly to your Paid Roles, but have plenty of other customization options! You can find out how to edit your subscription on the Your Store tab.
Restrictions
When creating a subscription role, please keep the following restrictions in mind:
- You can only create subscription roles for Groups you own.
- Subscription roles can't give users access to moderation permissions in your Group.
- The role cannot violate our CE Content Guidelines, Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.
